Jean was putting together a 1920’s themed New Year’s Party and asked if I could Donate a Painting. I agreed and got to work on a concept. My first thought was pop art and when researching found out Felix the Cat was the most popular cartoon of that Era. I wanted to put a modern twist on it so I used Felix’s Magic Bag pattern for the background and found this awesome pose of Felix looking so happy with his arms out. I put together a concept image and she loved it! I got to work transferring Felix to an 18″x 24″ Canvas, hand painted the 106 Dots and X’s for the background, then painted Felix all in Non-Toxic Acrylic Paint. Both Jean and the winner of the raffle were incredibly happy with their Modern Wall Art Piece.
